A truly inspriational event...

On Friday September 27th 2024, the Swansea Arena played host to a magical evening of inspiration, innovation, and heartfelt stories as the Child of Wales Awards celebrated the remarkable achievements of young people across Wales. Cappd was proud to partner with this prestigious event, providing NFC and QR technology to revolutionise attendee engagement, sponsor visibility, and overall event interaction. Here’s a look back at the evening.

Bringing Stories to Life.

The evening opened with an incredible performance by the Child of Wales Choir 2024, brought together by the Mark Jermin Stage School, setting a heartfelt and energetic tone for the night.

Hosted by the ever-charming Gethin Jones, the event featured 13 inspirational award winners whose stories touched everyone in attendance. But this year, these stories were not only shared on stage—they were brought to life through NFC and QR technology, allowing attendees to dive deeper into the narratives behind the awards.

Attendees could tap NFC-enabled table talkers or scan QR codes placed strategically around the venue to access exclusive multimedia content, including video interviews with the winners and background on their journeys. This integration of technology gave guests the opportunity to engage more intimately with the awardees’ stories, adding an emotional layer that resonated deeply throughout the evening.

Memorable Moments Amplified.

One of the night’s highlights was a moving performance by Amy Wadge, ambassador of the 2Wish charity, as well as a touching tribute written for Joseph’s Smile Charity by Steve Balsamo & Black Mountain Voices. Both performances left the audience deeply moved and emotional, underscoring the powerful connection between the causes and the people they represent. As the night progressed, the legendary Beverley Knight MBE delivered an uplifting 25-minute performance, captivating the room with her incredible energy.

Fundraising Success: Auction & Raffle.

The evening closed with a fantastic result: £60,000 was raised for the associated charities. Hosted by the ever-entertaining Kev Johns MBE, the auction and raffle were not only successful in their fundraising goals but also interactive, with attendees able to participate digitally through QR codes on their phones. This streamlined process made it easier for guests to engage and contribute to the causes close to their hearts

Enhancing Sponsor Interaction and Visibility.

Sponsors are crucial to events like the Child of Wales Awards, and Cappd ensured they received enhanced visibility and interaction through our contactless business cards and QR-enabled communications. Sponsors like 2Wish and Joseph’s Smile Charity were able to seamlessly connect with attendees, who could scan codes to learn more about the charities, their work, and how to support them.

Cappd’s technology elevated sponsor engagement beyond traditional banners and logos, allowing for an interactive brand experience that felt both personal and impactful.
